The Rhodan Coiled Data Cable is an OEM part that links the main body of the motor to the head at the top of the shaft. The CDC has a heavy rubber jacket and holds three essential cables; two power cables and one data cable. The CDC directly links the HCB to the MCB (via data cable) and the HCB to the power cable connection at the top of the shaft found inside the head.
Rhodan Coiled Data Cables Are Available In Three Sizes:
- CDC-STD For 60" & Under Shaft Length Motors
- CDC-LG/Long For 72 & 84" Shaft Length Motors
- CDC-XL For 96" & 108" Shaft Length Motors *Will Sag/Hang low on 96" once stretched out
Tech Tip: Usually the CDC is replaced when the outer jacket of the cable ripped, gets twisted and knotted up beyond untangling. Another reason could be the data cable plug is compromised due to corrosion. There are also cases where internal failure occurs with one of the three inner cables. *In order to test is a new data cable is needed: Remove the MCB from the head (top of shaft) and link it directly to the HCB, bypassing the CDC. If problem is fixed then the CDC was the issue and need to be replace. If that does not fix the issue continue trouble shooting and contact Rhodan Factory Service for help.
